Turkey visa requirements

Before planning your trip to Turkey, make sure you check visa requirements. Most visitors from European countries do not require a visa to visit Turkey if they spend up to 90 days per visit and 90 days per a 180-day period.

From March 2, 2020, residents of the following countries can enter Turkey without a visa:

  • Austria
  • Belgium,
  • Croatia,
  • Ireland,
  • Malta,
  • Netherlands,
  • Norway,
  • Poland,
  • Portugal,
  • Spain,
  • UK.

Travellers of most nationalities must hold a passport valid for no less than 150 days from the arrival date. Citizens of Belgium, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, the Netherlands, Northern Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Ukraine can enter the country with their ID cards.

If you are planning to stay in Turkey for longer period, then you have apply for a visa according to your purpose (a work or study visa, a residence permit) at the Turkish Embassy or Consulate.
