Foreigners are expected to spend over 1 billion dollars on Turkish property in 2017

Turkish real estate experts expect that local property sales to foreigners will bring about $ 1 billion to Turkey’s economy.

These predictions have been made taking into account the fact that new investment program was launched previously. According to this program, foreigners who bought housing of more than 1 million dollars, invested over 2 million dollars in the economy, have a deposit in a Turkish bank of over 3 million dollars or created 100 jobs will obtain Turkish citizenship.

According to experts, these changes will bring to Turkey new companies who are willing to launch their departments in this country. Besides, it will attract those who want to invest in Turkey’s property in order to gain profit.

Rock tombs of in the province of Şanlıurfa become available for tourists

Unearthed in caves in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa, the rock tombs are to be opened to tourists after excavations are completed.

This area is a home to myriad civilizations in its thousand-year history. Today it is the leading destination for faith and culture tourism in Turkey.

2000-year old caves were unearthed during restoration and environmental arrangement works in the areas where shanty houses had been previously built. Over one hundred rock tombs were found inside the uncovered caves.

According to the head of the province, Şanlıurfa is to be turned into a kind of “open-air museum.” Tourists will be able to learn the lifestyle, philosophy, richness, architecture and faith of this area by exploring the arches, gates, and floor mosaics of the caves.

Step back in time with museum in Turkey’s Aydin

Located near Turkey’s Aegean coast, the Afrodisyas Museum offers a veritable treasure trove of sculptures and other artifacts taking visitors back more than two thousand years to enjoy some of the most striking statues produced in the region.

The ancient city of Aphrodisias is on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary list. The exploration of this city was started in 1904 by foreign archaeologists. And today the museum displays 300 statues, the work of the Aphrodisias School. They draw attentions to elements such as women, family and mythology.

Besides statues, visitors can observe original reliefs which are placed opposite to each other in a special corridor in the museum, emulating how they were installed on the street in front of the Sebasteion Temple in the ancient city’s center.

The 36th edition of Istanbul Film Festival

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, Istanbul Film Festival is Turkey’s biggest international cinema event. This year it will take place between April 5 and 15.

Presenting a rich program including the latest productions and cult films from Turley and other countries, the festival will host 186 feature films, 17 short films in 21 different categories. The program includes screening of a total of 203 films from 61 counties, festival talks with guest filmmakers and Q&A sessions, various concerts and other events.
